Our Story
Red
My Mother Went By Red.
Loyal. Genuine. Gave what she had, when she had it.
And she had a line. You knew where it was. Step over it and she wouldn't make a scene — she'd just know, and she wouldn't forget.
She always stayed fly. From when I was a kid right up until she passed. Didn't matter what the day was. She put herself together.
That's where I got it from.
The Start
I ain't gonna tell you I studied fashion. I didn't. I just liked clothes, same as she did. Seven months ago I decided to find out if I could put a line together.
Blanks. Embroidery. What 10.5oz actually means. A website. Looked all of it up myself, and got most of it wrong the first time.
This is what came out.
The Standard
The hoodie is 10.5oz fleece — brushed soft on the inside, 356 grams a square metre. The hood is two layers of the same fabric, so it stands up instead of laying flat on your back. Ribbed cuffs and waistband that come back to shape after you push the sleeves up.
The tee is 7oz ring-spun cotton, cut oversized, with the shoulder seam rolled forward so it sits where it's supposed to sit.
Both of them carry the R and W on the chest in red thread — and the back of that stitch is finished clean on the inside, where nobody's looking.
That part matters to me. She'd have checked the inside.
RED stands for Rooted In Every Detail.
RED was also my mother.
Both are true. The second one is the reason for the first.
